Sheriff Brent Miller

Sheriff Brent Miller has been a lifelong resident of Washington County, graduating from Salem High School in 1986.  Sheriff Miller graduated from Vincennes University in 1989 with a degree in Law Enforcement and Conservation.  He was hired at the Washington County Sheriff's Department in 1989 by then Sheriff John Agan as a Jail Officer.  in 1991, Sheriff Miller was hired as a Deputy Sheriff for Washington County by Sheriff Jim Watson.

1994 Sergeant
1998 Lieutenant
2003 Captain

Sheriff Miller has been the WCSD Lead Investigator for over 20 years.

In 2015, newly elected Sheriff Roger Newlon appointed Sheriff Miller as his Chief Deputy.  

Following this appointment, Sheriff Miller ran for and was elected Sheriff of Washington County in November of 2018 and continues to faithfully serve the residents of Washington County.

Sheriff Miller has also served the community in the past by serving as a Volunteer Firefighter for Salem Fire department and Deputy Coroner.  He continues to this day as a Hunter Education Instructor, one of his great passions.

Sheriff Miller is also an accomplished coach to many of the youth athletic programs, serving as a coach for Soccer, Football, Baseball, and Softball.

Sheriff Miller is proud to make a difference in Washington County, one day at a time.
