Washington County Sheriff's Department sponsors Drug Drop/Food Drive days several times a year to collect unused prescription medications. But you don't have to wait for a special date. Washington County has a drug drop box available during normal business hours. The box is in the main lobby of the Washington County Justice Center.

Pills can be removed from the original containers and placed in zip sealed baggie before dropping into the drug drop box. This is the preferred method of receiving the medications and makes it easier for disposal.

If you would rather drop the medications in the original containers, make sure to use a permanent maker to block out the names, addresses, and prescription numbers.

NOT ACCEPTED:

Liquid medication of any kind.
Any medication containing a needle, including Epi-Pens or Insulin Pens.
