OVERTURNED TRUCK JIM DAY ROAD

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT
On Thursday, February 01, 2023, at approximately 10:34 am, emergency services responded to an overturned box truck with injuries, on Jim Day Road, in Salem, Indiana.
Evidence at the scene and statements obtained by deputies indicated that Martel Miller, age 40 of Louisville, Kentucky was traveling north on Jim Day Road, in a Dare To Care, Freightliner box truck. The passenger side of the truck dropped of the right side of the roadway. Miller attempted to correct the truck and bring it back onto the roadway. The truck overturned on the roadway and slid back off the roadway before coming to a rest, partially in a field. Miller was trapped inside the truck and had to be extricated by members of the Salem Fire Department.
Ghulam Amiri, age 38 of Louisville, Kentucky was a passenger in the truck. Both Miller and Amiri were transported by the Washington County Ambulance Service to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of moderate to serious bodily injuries.
