DETAILS:

On October 1st, 2023, at approximately 2:17pm, the Washington County Dispatcher Center received a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries on Winslow Road near the intersection with Rooster Hill Road. Deputy Tory Hildreth with the Washington County Sheriff's Department along with the Washington County Ambulance Service and Monroe Township Fire Department responded to the scene of the crash.

The driver, 16 year old Maggie Sheeham and the passenger, 16 year old Margot Spaulding, both of Louisville , KY, were traveling south on Winslow Road. Maggie and Margot were following a family member on the gravel road. While Maggie was attempting to catch up to the vehicle she was following, her view of the roadway was obstructed by gravel dust in the air from the other vehicle. While her view of the roadway was obstructed, Maggie's vehicle ran off the edge of the roadway. When Maggie attempted to steer the vehicle back onto the roadway, the vehicle began sliding side to side. Maggie was attempting to regain control of the vehicle when the vehicle ran off the other side of the roadway. After leaving the roadway, the vehicle ran into a ditch, causing the vehicle to overturn onto its roof. Maggie and Margot sustained non-life threatening injuries from the crash. Both subjects were wearing seat belts. Neither subject was transported from the scene for medical attention.
