The Washington County Community Foundation has awarded the Washington County Sheriff's Department a grant so that more of the patrol cars can be equipped with AEDs. (Automated External Defibrillator)

The check, shown below being received by Sheriff Brent Miller and Dispatcher Deni Stempowski (grant writer), will be used to purchase the defibrillators, pads and pay for training for the officers.  This will enable officers who, due to them being on the road during their shift, often arrive on the scene prior to the ambulance.  These seconds can be lifesaving to the residents of Washington County.
