Drug Drop/Food Drive Success!

The Washington County Sheriffs Department partnered with the Salem Police Department to host a Drive-thru Drug/Drop along with a Food Drive for the local Food Bank this past Saturday.
 
A total of 63 pounds of expired or unwanted prescription medications were collected and incinerated on Saturday. The Drug Drop Program at the Sheriffs Department has collected and destroyed 691 pounds of medications in the past three years.
 
The Food Drive brought in 541 food items which were donated to the local food bank in Salem. Thank you everyone who donated food items.
Helping with the drive-thru were Matt Hein, Dustin Pridemore, Joe Keltner, James Moore, Austin Luckett and Sheriff Brent Miller.
 
The next quarterly drive-thru drug drop will be held in January.
