TYPE OF OCCURRENCE: Report of Shots Fired Leads to Search Warrant
DATE OF OCCURRENCE: Saturday October 15, 2022
LOCATION OF OCCURRENCES: 11,000 Block East Smith Road. Scottsburg, IN (Washington County IN.)
INVESTIGATING OFFICER: Deputy Dawson Easterday
DEPARTMENTS INVOLVED: Washington County Sheriff's Department, Scott County Sheriff's Office, and Department of Natural Resources & Southeast Reginal Emergency Response Team.
DETAILS:
On Saturday October 15, 2022, at approximately 10:24pm, deputies with the Washington County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the 11000 Block East Smith Road in reference to a male shooting at another male. When deputies arrived on scene the suspected shooter, later identified as Corey Zollman-Carroll of Scottsburg, IN, was at his residence on East Smith Road. Corey failed to listen to commands given to him by deputies and barricaded himself inside of his residence. Corey later came out of his residence and was taken into custody without further incident. Officers applied for and received a search warrant for the residence. During the search of the residence, multiple marijuana plants were located along with firearms, methamphetamine, additional marijuana, and multiple drug paraphernalia items. Corey Zollman-Carroll was transported to the Washington County Detention Center and booked in on the following charges:
Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon a Level 5 Felony, Possession of Methamphetamine a Level 5 Felony, Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon a Level 6 Felony, Pointing a Loaded Firearm a Level 6 Felony, Resisting Law Enforcement a Class A Misdemeanor, Possession of Marijuana a Class B Misdemeanor, Possession of Paraphernalia a Class C Misdemeanor.
