MC Crash New Salem Rd at Calloway Rd

MOTORCYCLE CRASH WITH INJURY.
On Saturday, March 21, 2026, members of emergency services were dispatched to the area of New Salem Road, near East Calloway Road, in reference to a motorcycle crash.
Deputies arrived on the scene and observed a Ram 3500, with damage to the left rear corner. The driver of the Ram was identified as Aydin Eggleston, age 17 of Scottsburg, Indiana.
Deputies also observed a Honda motorcycle with extensive damage, resting along the edge of the roadway. The driver of the Honda was identified as Isaac Rangel, age 20 of Scottsburg, Indiana.
Based on evidence at the scene and statements given by drivers and witnesses, Aydin was traveling northbound on New Salem Road, being followed by four people on motorcycles.
Aydin stated she made a sudden reduction in speed to avoid a potential collision with a dog that appeared to be entering or crossing the roadway. Rangel said he quickly applied his brakes prior to impact, leaving an approximate 50-foot skid mark on the roadway. Despite this effort, the motorcycle collided with the rear end of the Ram pickup.
Rangel was transported by helicopter ambulance to University of Louisville Hospital with multiple injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Rangel was wearing a helmet.
The crash was investigated by K-9 Deputy Paul Reyling, Deputy Cody Pouw and Deputy Dylan Johnson. The deputies were assisted by members of the Washington County Ambulance Service.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
