Sheriff Brent Miller spearheaded the 6th annual Cram the Cruiser Food Drive, where everything collected was donated to the Washington County Food Bank.

Sheriff Miller said Walmart and the JayC Store agreed to partner with the Sheriff's Department once again to host the food drive at their business locations. Sheriff Miller and a group of volunteers collected items at Walmart from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, on Sunday, while Capt. Joe Keltner and another group of volunteers collected food items at the JayC Store.

Both groups collected a grand total of 1,403 pounds of food items and a total of $1,525.40 in monetary donations.

Sheriff Miller would like thank everyone who made a food or cash donation and to the volunteers, who braved the cold weather conditions to collect the donations.

If you wanted to donate but missed the event, you can still donate directly to the Washington County Food Bank, located at 106 Water Street in Salem. The Food Bank is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 am through 3:00 pm.
