On Tuesday, November 11, at approximately 4:14 pm, members of emergency services were dispatched to the 10000 block of Saylor Road, in reference to a motor vehicle accident involving a dump truck.

Driver statements, witness statements and evidence gathered at the scene indicate that Jerry Radcliff, age 70 of Scottsburg, Indiana was traveling eastbound on Saylor Road, operating a 2001 International dump truck. Radcliff left the roadway and drove into the ditch, on the south side of the roadway. Radcliff then drove back onto the roadway before overcorrecting and traveling off the roadway and into the ditch on the north side of the roadway. Radcliff then struck a tree before coming to a stop.

Radcliff was transported by air ambulance to University of Louisville hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Deputy Seth Goode is the lead investigator and was assisted by the Washington County Ambulance Service, Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department and members of the Salem Fire Department.

The motor vehicle accident remains under investigation at this time.
