Deputies arrived on the scene and identified the driver as Violett Gordon, age 18 of Borden, Indiana. Gordon was driving a 2009 Toyota Yaris.

Gordon stated she was traveling northbound on Voyles Road, when her passenger side wheels dropped off the right side of the roadway. Gordon said she over-corrected, causing her vehicle to go into a skid and travel off the left side of the roadway. Gordon further stated her vehicle struck a tree and rolled over multiple times before coming to a rest.

Gordon was transported by ambulance to St. Vincent Hospital in Salem, where she was treated for minor injuries and released.

Lt. Wayne Blevins is the investigating officer and was assisted by Reserve Officer Dale Adams, Washington County Ambulance Service and members of the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Pierce/Polk Volunteer Fire Department.
