state road 135 and Water Tower crashMOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
On April 5, at approximately 3:31 pm, Washington County Deputies and emergency response personnel were dispatched to the intersection of N. State Road 135 and Water Tower Road in reference to a motor vehicle accident.
Jacob Wolfe, age 16 of Salem, Indiana and a juvenile passenger were traveling east on Water Tower Road in a 1998 Ford Mustang, while Danielle Potts, age 18 of Salem, Indiana was traveling south on N. State Road 135, in a 2007 Dodge Nitro. The drivers' statements and evidence at the scene indicated Wolfe failed to yield at the stop sign, at the intersection and his vehicle struck Potts' vehicle on the front passenger side. Potts' vehicle continued off the west side of the roadway and struck a concrete culvert before coming to a stop.
Wolfe, his juvenile passenger and Potts declined medical treatment at the scene and all parties were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Deputy Hailee Lopotosky is the investigating officer and was assisted by Deputies Paul Reyling and Sgt. Lucas Gray, the Washington County Ambulance Service and members of the Salem Fire Department.
