BACK TO SCHOOL
As kids head back to school, it is critical to keep our students safe. Parents, guardians, and community members should follow these guidelines to create a safe and healthy environment for all:
- Always stop for school buses. Failure to stop for a school bus can result in jail time and fines.
- Practice safety at the bus stop. Parents should accompany their children to the bus stop and report any safety concerns to local and school officials.
- Watch out for walkers and pedestrians while driving. Pedestrians should also be aware of vehicle traffic and make use of sidewalks and crosswalks.
- Follow all speed limits. Be cautious of areas that have reduced speed during school hours.
- Make sure to buckle up every time you drive, and don't begin a trip without ensuring all additional passengers are properly buckled in their seats.
As a community, we can ensure our students and teachers have a strong start to the school year.
